Belgrade set aside 700m RSD for construction of apartments for evacuation

- The Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade will continue construction of apartments for evacuation this year. These apartments are not intended for free real estate market, but for evacuation of users of the land and owners of the facility whose property is situated on the routes of important infrastructure corridors - "Beoinfo" announced.

– In the location of Block 32a, between Vojvode Stepe Boulevard and Gostivarska Street, construction of a residential-business complex with a garage is in progress. Prior to 2012, eight buildings with 251 apartments, 227 garages and 13 outlets will be built in that location, and total value of the investment is 2 billion RSD. Two facilities with 56 apartments, 8 outlets and 42 garages have already been built in the lot between Gružanska Street, Jovana Rajića Street, Karlovačka Street and Todora od Stalaća Street. The Directorate set aside 350m RSD from its own source revenues for these facilities – Nenad Bajić, the Head of the Information Service of the Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade, told "Beoinfo".

In so-called Asbestos housing project in Bele Vode, seven new facilities have already been built, three facilities are under construction, and another four buildings will be built in 2010. The Asbestos housing project was created in the 1960's when 14 temporary facilities covered by asbestos panels were erected in that location. The plan was that those temporary facilities be removed about 20 years later because their life was expiring at that time.

During this year only, the Directorate for Building Land and Construction of Belgrade will set aside about 700m RSD for construction of apartments for evacuation.
