The new, state-of-the-arts system for collecting, transporting and disposing ash in block B2 (620 MW) was put in operation in Steam Power Plant "Nikola Tesla B" in Ušće near Obrenovac on Friday (October 30th, 2009), and the same system will be put in operation in block B1 (also 620 MW) in May 2010, which will definitely solve the problem of blowing of ash by wind from the dump of the youngest steam power plant within the "Nikola Tesla" system in Obrenovac.
Donation for this project (phases 1 and 2), worth 28m EUR, has been provided by European Union, while the Electric Power Company of Serbia and PD TENT invested 3m EUR each.
Realization of this environment protection project, which is seen by many as the largest of the kind in southeast Europe, represents a great step towards improvement of the living conditions, not only of the population of Obrenovac, but also of the public in whole Serbia, as well as the region.
The project has been implemented by Sarajevo-based "Energoinvest" and Hungarian company "EWB" in association with the experts from PD TENT.
