Five times quicker service - GTZ donated instrument for more efficient calculation of VAT to Tax Administration in Kragujevac

The representatives of German Organization for Technical Assistance (GTZ) handed a modern instrument for quick input and processing of applications for value added tax (VAT) to the Tax Administration in Kragujevac on Friday (October 23, 2009).

The Assistant to the Manager of the Sector for Education and Communications within the Tax Administration, Zoran Vasić, said to the press that, thanks to that laser scanner, the work efficiency of the Tax Administration would be significantly improved.

- The speed of data input is below one second, which means that the input of 100 applications takes one minute - said Vasić.

That process will be five times shorter, while the data processing will take one instead of five days. Total of five employees will be engaged in the tax applications processing, which is ten times less than before.

Total of 22,000 tax applications are submitted to the Regional Center of the Tax Administration in Kragujevac every month.

The Director of the Project by German Organization for Technical Assistance (GTZ), Jerg Horstmajer, said to the press that that organization had been providing support to the reform of financial administration in Serbia since year 2002.

It has been announced that the trainings in the field of international taxation and other expert lectures, for which 1,000 employees of the Tax Administration have applied, will be organized in association with GTZ.
