"China Road and Bridge Corporation" to build Zemun-Borča bridge - investment worth 170m EUR

Chinese company "China Road and Bridge Corporation" signed the pre-contract with the Government of Serbia and the City of Belgrade on Friday (October 23rd, 2009) for construction of Zemun-Borča bridge worth 170m EUR.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Economy of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, said at the press conference that 145m EUR (85% of the funds) would be provided from the loan approved by Chinese Exim Bank.

- The repayment period is 15 years, with the grace period of three years and fixed interest rate of 3% on annual basis - said Dinkić and added that the contracts on construction of the bridge and the loan should be signed by the end of year 2009.

Chinese Ambassador to Serbia, Vei Đinghua, said that the signing of the pre-contract represented significant step towards concretion of the strategic partnership between China and Serbia, which had been established during the visit of Serbian President Boris Tadić to China in August 2009.
