"Alfa logistik" must invest 156.8m RSD in additional capitalization of Zrenjanin's meat industry "Bek"

- Belgrade-based company "Alfa logistik" will have to additionally capitalize Zrenjanin's Meat industry "Bek" with 156.8m RSD by the end of the year within the scope of the reorganization of that company - the Court of Commerce in Zrenjanin announced today (October 22, 2009).
Company "Alfa logistik" submitted the plan for reorganization of Zrenjanin-based company "Bek" in bankruptcy and took on the obligation to start production, hire 170 workers and invest 3m EUR in the company within one year starting from March 5th, 2008, when the Court of Commerce in Zrenjanin made the decision.
At the beginning of April 2008, "Alfa logistik" started the programme for reorganization of "Bek", and the new management announced on that occasion commencement of production and employment of 260 workers, as well as payment of all late salaries and other allowances.
"Bek" had been bought by Belgrade-based company "Probekon" before year 2006. The state wrote off 485m RSD worth of debts in order to enable commencement of production, while the workers signed contracts to give up part of their salaries.
Soon after that the request was submitted for introduction of bankruptcy proceedings and all workers were left without job.
