"Inter Rao" interested in construction of power plants in Serbia

The Director General of public company "Srbijagas", Dušan Bajatović, said yesterday (October 21, 2009) that he had spoken to the representatives of Russian power company "Inter Rao" about construction of gas power plants in Serbia.

He said at the press conference that the investments in power plants would depend on the possibility of provision of cheaper gas, construction of gas storage and gas pipeline Južni Tok.

Bajatović said that company "Inter Rao" had been introduced to the possibility of construction of the steam power plant - heating plant in Novi Sad, the tender for which was open at the moment.

As he explained, that project would represent a joint business of company "Inter Rao", "Srbijagas", and Russian national company "Gazprom".
