"Jat Airways" sells valuable buildings

At the meeting on Wednesday, the Administrative Board of company "Jat Airways" gave "green light" for sale of the national airliner's property in Belgrade, Amsterdam, London and Paris. The money from these sales will be chiefly invested in the fleet and parts for airplanes. The proposal of the Administrative Board will be forwarded to the company's Assembly, and then to the Government of Serbia, which makes final decision about the sale of properties.
As "Novosti" learned, the buildings of "Jat" will be offered for sale at public auction. The Administration of the national airliner will move to the Belgrade airport, while the business facility at 8,590 square meters in New Belgrade will be sold. People in "Jat" expect to get between 15 and 30m EUR for that building. The national air transportation company also plans to sell the office space at 248 square meters in Kralja Milana Street, which may cost about 5m EUR. Starting prices for the facilities of "Jat" in Belgrade and abroad have not been specified yet.
The Administrative Board also made the decision about new round of voluntary leave from the company. The plan is that about 200 workers leave "Jat" and get severance pays.
Žika Novaković, the Executive Director who was in charge of finance, has been dismissed and replaced by Petar Damnjanović who had been the Finance Director in "Grand Prom" prior to 2005. Tanja Jovanović, who was in charge of commercial affairs, has also been dismissed, and her position in the Executive Board of Directors will be assumed by Zoran Hudak, an employee of "Jat".
