Belgrade to be host of American chambers of commerce from throughout Europe

Belgrade will be the host of American chambers of commerce from throughout Europe between October 17 and 19. At the invitation of the American Chamber of Commerce in Serbia (AmCham Serbia), the organization AmChams in Europe (ACE) has chosen to hold its annual European conference in the capital of Serbia, AmCham Serbia announced.

Jelena Pavlovic, the president of the Managing Board of AmCham Serbia, points out that this is an opportunity for Serbia to present itself as an attractive investment destination to this important international network.

– As an active member of the AmCham network in Europe, we’ve managed to bring the record number of directors of European AmChams to Belgrade. We will present the potentials for investment and development of business operations in the Serbian market to this important European business network, which represents 16,500 companies with more than 4.2 million employees – Jelena Pavlovic stated.

She emphasizes that this part of Europe is very interesting to American and other multinational companies, as shown by the impressive results in attracting investments.

– Stimulating local and foreign investments is our mission, and that can only be done through reforms aiming to improve the business climate. In Serbia, we are a prominent voice of the business community when it comes to advocating the improvement of business conditions and the building of institutions, whereas, abroad, we try to present all these successes in improving the said conditions, as well as all the advantages of Serbia as an investment destination, to potential investors. Through the network of AmChams in Europe, but also the global network, AmCham acts as a unique economic bridge connecting our country to the USA – Pavlovic emphasized.

The conference will also focus on the exchange of the best practices between the organizations’ members and the way other countries address the burning issues when it comes to business climate, while improving the operations of the public administration and contributing to the development and the keeping of talented people within the country, reducing the brain drain.

ACE organizes two large gatherings per year, one of which always takes place in Washington, whereas the European conference takes place in a different city in Europe each year.
