"Želvoz" presented six modernized cars - bilevel and lounge cars for European rails

Factory of railway cars "Želvoz" from Smederevo and the majority owner of that company - "Grampet group" from Romania, presented six modernized passenger cars at the Main Railway Station in Belgrade on October 16th.

Four bi-level cars and two lounge cars for European rails were presented on that occasion.

The representative of company "Grampet", Kornel Negret, said that "'Grampet' was in the mood to transfer technologies to Želvoz with the aim of producing modern cars in Serbia as well".

The Director General of "Želvoz", Slobodan Ristić, pointed out that those cars had been made according to the up-to-date standards of European Union, and that they had been painted in eco-colors.

- The cars have automatic doors, mobile stairs, which means they be used by people in wheelchairs. They have eco-toilets, air conditioning system, as well as video surveillance - said Ristić.

The bi-level cars have total of 270 seats and they can travel at maximum speed of 120 km per hour.

Lounge car "Blue Hexagon" can develop the speed of 160 km per hour, and it has 78 seats.

The cars have been modernized by Romanian company "Remar Pascani", which operates within the system of "Grampet Group".

Smederevo-based "Želvoz" was sold in 2007 to the consortium comprising Romanian companies "Grampet" and "Remar" at the price of 1,150,000 EUR.
