Government of Montenegro to invest 27m EUR in disposal of solid waste

The Government of Montenegro has accepted the Contract on European Investment Bank 's (EIB) loan for realization of 27m EUR worth of the Project for disposal of solid waste.

- The contract anticipates grace period of six years and repayment deadline of 25 years - it was announced after the meeting of the Government.

The aim of the Project is development of integrated system of sustainable management of solid waste in Montenegro, according to the standards of European Union.

Among the rest, the Project includes construction of new sanitary landfills, recycling and composting capacities, and refurbishment of existing landfills.

The Government has also accepted the Agreement on economic cooperation with Serbia, as well as the Agreement between Montenegro and Serbia on mutual stimuli and protection of investments.

People in the Government say that signing of these agreements will contribute to development and expansion of mutually useful economic cooperation between the two countries, which want to improve their friendly relations in this way as well.
