Chinese truck manufacturer "Dong Feng" interested in FAP

The Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mlađan Dinkić, spoke to the delegation of one of the largest manufacturers of trucks - Chinese "Dong Feng", about the possibilities of investment in Automobile Factory Priboj (FAP).

As the Ministry of Economy announced, Dinkić pointed out that FAP was the company with long tradition and that it was interested in strategic partnership, while Serbia was willing to back the Chinese partner at all levels. The Minister said that the export opportunities would be great if the trucks were produced in Serbia.

Chinese delegation, which is staying in Serbia for few days, will be touring factory FAP in Priboj and factory FAP Livnica (Foundry) in Prijepolje within the next two days and talk about potential cooperation on technical level.

The visit of the representatives of company "Dong Feng" was agreed during the recent visit of the President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, and Minister Dinkić to Beijing and Shangai.

"Dong Feng" was founded in 1969, and it is not only the largest manufacturer of trucks in China, but also in Asia. That company produces 1.2m trucks a year since year 2007, and it has over 120,000 employees. Part of the holding company that deals with production of medium heavy and heavy trucks and commercial vehicles has the contract on joint investment with company "Renault-Nissan", as well as contracts for series of other forms of cooperation with the world's largest manufacturers in automotive sector.
