The upper section, above 10,000 meters, has been controlled by Serbia and Croatia since 1998.
This July, the presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina approved the draft for the negotiations about the signing of new interstate agreements with the neighboring countries, enabling the realization of this arrangement.
Pejic says that talks pertaining to the takeover of the control over this section of the airspace above B&H were had on Tuesday and Wednesday and that negotiations with Croatia will be had in the next period.
– After these negotiations, conditions will meet for the signing of international agreements in a regular procedure and we believe that there are currently no circumstances that could lead to potential delays of the date of the takeover, which is December 5 – Pejic says.
Rade Zucic, the PR expert association at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Air Navigation Services Agency, has confirmed for RSE that everything is ready for the takeover.
Between 1995 and 2014, B&H had no control over the section up to 10,000 meters either. For years, Serbia and Croatia carried out these activities and charged for the service as well.
