New Head of the delegation of European Commission in Serbia, Vincent Degert, said that he hoped that constant progress in the cooperation between Serbia and Hague Tribunal would enable full realization of the temporary agreement between EU and Serbia as soon as possible.

Mr. Degert handed the letter of accreditation to the President of Serbia, Boris Tadić, and pointed out that his mission was to help Serbia in its efforts to join EU and to improve the relations between the two sides.

"I firmly believe that Serbia's place is in the family of democratic European countries, and that it will become a member of EU as soon as all the conditions are created“, said the new Head of the delegation of European Commission.

Mr. Degert pointed out that "the next big step should be full realization of the temporary agreement between EU and Serbia".

Ambassador Degert assumes his position in Belgrade after he spent four years as the Head of the delegation of EC in Zagreb. Degert works for the Commission for 22 years, and he has nine-year experience in the field of the EU enlargement. He graduated in Political Sciences, European Affairs and Law, and he has MA degree in Political Sciences. He was born in Strasbourg in 1960. He is married and has four children.
