Republic Geodesic Institute took over "Geokarta"

- The Republic Geodesic Institute of Serbia has taken over state-owned cartography company "Geokarta" - it was announced today (October 7, 2009).

According to the Institute's announcement, by taking over "Geokarta", that state-owned institution will diversify into publishing geographic and theme maps, atlases, maps of settled places, books, brochures, and other publications.

- We are happy with the fact that "Geokarta", the company with eight decades of experience in the cartography business, has become a part of our company - said the CEO of the Institute, Nenad Tesla, and added that the takeover of "Geokarta" had created "institutional and expert conditions" for standardization and improvement of cartography and publishing in Serbia.

"Geokarta" became a member of the Institute on October 1st.

The Republic Geodesic Institute is a state-owned organization in charge of the registry of real estates and registration of property rights, as well as all other works in that field.

According to the data provided by the Business Registry Agency, "Geokarta" had 84 employees in 2008 and registered 99,000 RSD worth of profit on the basis of business incomes worth 136m RSD.
