Construction of gondola lift is most significant investment in Zlatibor mountain - project worth about 50m EUR

- Construction of gondola lift between the center of Zlatibor mountain and peak Tornik, the project worth about 50m EUR, will be the most significant investment whose realization will commence the next year - said Milan Stamatović, the Mayor of Čajetina.

- In addition to significant investments whose realization is underway, the gondola lift to Tornik, 9 km long, is a capital project for Zlatibor, and we are going to finance its construction in association with business partners - said Stamatović.

He added that municipal services had started elaboration of the justification study for construction of that facility and project dossier, based on which the tender for purchase of equipment and selection of contractor would be announced, while the best strategic partner for realization of that project should be selected in the meantime. Stamatović pointed out that many investors, including "Skijališta Srbije", which ran Ski center "Tornik", were interested in that project, .

The Mayor of the municipality of Čajetina said that, in spite of the economic crisis, several hotels worth few tens of millions of euros were being built on Zlatibor mountain. He added that he was especially happy with the fact that foreign investors had appeared and started construction of significant tourist capacities.

- Certain Dutch investor has bought a property in the village of Semegnjevo to have a tourist complex with about 100 facilities built in that location, while a businessman from Russia bought 18 ha of land on the slopes of Zlatibor where he intends to have 200 facilities with accompanying contents and the first golf course on this mountain built - Stamatović pointed out.
