New unit for production of pills put in operation in "Jugoremedija" - investment worth 10m EUR

Pharmaceutical factory "Jugoremedija" in Zrenjanin put the new unit for production of pills in operation on Friday (September 2nd, 2009). Total of 10m EUR has been invested in reconstruction of that unit.
As it was announced after the opening of the unit, the pills production capacity will be doubled and it will amount to 1 billion pills per year, while the projected annual gross incomes are about 10m EUR.
Reconstruction of the unit lasted for 14 months, and 20 new workers have been employed directly in the unit's production department, while 30 workers have been employed through various types of cooperation.
The Director General of "Jugoremedija", Zdravko Deurić, said that the reconstruction of the unit was significant because of the international Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificate that will make it possible for "Jugoremedija" to meet domestic and European standards and do the production work for European Union.
The Provincial Secretary of Science and Technological Development,
Dragoslav Petrović, said that the Provincial Government would do everything to help "Jugoremedija" increase its share in production in Serbia and export its products.
- The new line for production of solid forms of drugs in "Jugoremedija" is the 61st new-technology unit that we have opened in Vojvodina over the last two years, and these units have overall capacity for creation of 17,260 new jobs - said Petrović and added that those units met all European standards and enabled export of goods.
The Executive Council of Vojvodina invested 24.6m RSD in reconstruction of the units in "Jugoremedija".
According to the data provided by the Business Registry Agency, private stock company "Jugoremedija" registered net profit of 216m RSD in 2008, based on business incomes of 1.6 billion RSD, and it had 431 employees.
