Construction of high-speed route Kragujevac-Mrcajevci to begin in 2020

The construction of 35 kilometers of the the high-speed route between Kragujevac and Mrcajevci will begin next year and cost EUR 150 million. Serbian Minister of Construction, Transport and Infrastructure Zorana Mihajlovic announced this in Batocina.

She told the press that the PE Roads of Serbia was obliged to complete the documentation and that funds would be set aside for this route from the 2020 state budget.

– Realistically, the construction of this high-speed route should begin in the third quarter of 2020 – Mihajlovic said.

She said that the Kragujevac-Mrcajevci section would connect to the Preljina-Kraljevo section.

Mihajlovic visited the Batocina Railway Station, where tracks are being reconstructed as part of the overhaul of the regional railway Lapovo-Kragujevac.
