Deadline for deletion of .yu domains extended until March 30th, 2010

International Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has approved extension of the deadline for deletion of the websites with .yu extension until March 30th, 2010, under the conditions that will be announced later.

As the Registry of National Internet Domain of Serbia (RNIDS) announced, the decision about extension of “life” of .yu domain has been made at the meeting of the Board of Directors of ICANN, which is still in progress.

"If RNIDS find the conditions acceptable, the Administrative Board of RNIDS will make the decision about final date for deletion of remaining 4,000 .yu websites, and the public will be timely informed on all the details", it is stated in the announcement.

Serbia’s old Internet domain with .yu extension was supposed to be deleted on October 1st, but RNIDS asked for extension of that deadline.
