Application of liquid glass to facades to be necessary for obtaining construction permits in Belgrade – PUC City Sanitation to be in charge of facade cleaning

PUC City Sanitation will be granted exclusive rights to clean facades in Belgrade. The decision o the matter will be adopted at the next City Assembly session, the Deputy Mayor of Belgrade said in a guest appearance on Studio B station, Beoinfo portal reports.

– In the future, it will be mandatory to apply coating of liquid glass to facades after cleaning, w hich will enable to clean any new graffiti with only water in no time. It is high time we started protecting our city, like Berlin and London which allocate significant funds for that purpose. That's why our next step will be to proscribe applying liquid glass to buildings as one of the requirements for obtaining the building permits, Vesic said.

He added that it will be mandatory for all legal entities such as banks, local municipalities and businesses located in the city zones valuable for tourism to clean their facades within a year's time and to continue maintaining them.

– Communal police would control performing prescribed activities, but there is no reason for those who make profits in our city, whether it's a bank, a post office or a business not to clean their facades. We will actively deal with the issue in the upcoming period, the Deputy Mayor announced.

Let us remind that Vesic has talked about it before when he said that around RSD 180 million would be allotted for the very purpose from the City budget in the next years.

Vesic added that they would also regulate the issue around the use of electric scooters and announced that the City would refer the initiative to relevant ministries.

– It is truly incredible that you can drive an electric scooter without a permit whatsoever, without a helmet and whether or not you are minor. There are no rules, the scooters are on the street and on the pavement. We know the rules for bicycles and motorbikes, whereas you can go to 30km per hour on a scooter. Scooters have spread all over the world, that's not the issue here, but it is very important for their use to be regulated, so you can precisely know where and how they can be used, concluded Goran Vesic.
