Agency for Chemicals – Government of Serbia to found another government institution

The Government of Serbia has made the decision to form the Agency for Chemicals in order to create administrative conditions for quality, efficient and safe management of chemicals and biocide products.
The Agency is authorized to pass sublegal regulations for realization of the Law on Chemicals and the Law on Biocide Products, to make the list of qualified substances and decisions about including chemicals in the Registry of Chemicals, as well as to run that Registry.
Among the rest, the newly formed government institution will run Integral Registry of Chemicals, publish the lists of substances that cause concern, issue licenses for trade and use of extremely dangerous chemicals, elaborate and implement projects whose task is to make sure that the chemicals are traded and used in such way that they do not have harmful influence on people’s health, environment and property.
The Agency will be managed by the Administrative Board that comprises five members and the Chairman, who will be appointed within the next month.
