Tabletop strategy games championship held at Novi Said Fair

European Team Championship in tabletop strategy games, which is a central event at Gaming OpeNS Festival of social gaming and popular culture was held in the Master Hall od Novi Sad Fair on August 7-11, 2019

The championship gathered over a thousand competitors from 45 countries that tried their hand in big battle simulation in minituare wargames, Novi Sad Fair report states.

Mayor of Novi Sad Milos Vucevic also visited the so far largest tabletop strategy games competition in the world.

– I was surprised in the best way possible by what I'd seen. I had no clue so many people plays these games, it's fascinating, over a thousand people from all conttinents, from America, Russia, Canada, Argentina and dozens of other countries came here to play. They explained to me how they play, how attack whom, all of this is incredibly creative. I'm glad that Novi Sad is able to organize such events, to bring some many people form all over th eworld who will talk about Novi Sad and send the best possible picture of our city out into the world, Vucevic said.

– There is no better advertising that this, this is the story Novi Sad needs to expand on in its future development. This is the story of Novi Sad we wish to see and we hope these pople will tell good stories about our city, Vucevic added.

Presentations of games and cosplayers, sweepstakes, workshops and lectures were also organized over the course of five days.
