Oil Forum of Energy Community on September 24 and 25 in Belgrade

The first Oil Forum of the Energy Community of Southeast Europe will be held on September 24 and 25 in Belgrade, and it will gather representatives of the countries members, officials, investors and energy companies.

According to the announcement, the main theme of the forum will be development of oil reserves in the region, and the meeting will be opened by Mirko Cvetković, the Prime Minister of Serbia.

The Energy Community and the International Energy Agency (IEA) will host the meeting, and the former announced that the Oil Forum would be attended by the Minister of Energy of Serbia, Petar Škundrić, the representative of IEA, Didier Houssin, and Fabrizio Barbaso from European Commission.

The participants in the Forum will be discussing situation in the oil market, issue of mandatory oil reserves in the region, and the influence of possible expansion of EU's oil-related regulations to the legislation of the Energy Community.

Other themes of the Oil Forum will be: development and experience in production, processing and licensing oil activities, infrastructural projects for construction of Pan-European pipeline (PEOP), and oil pipelines AMBO and Burgas-Aleksandropolis.

The Council of Ministers of the Energy Community founded Oil Forum in December 2008 and included oil in the definition of "network energy".

Members of the Energy Community of Southeast Europe are Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro and UNMIK on behalf of Kosovo.

The countries participants are Austria, Bulgaria, Romania, Greece, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Slovakia, France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Hungary, Slovenia and Great Britain.
