DCD system worth 77m EUR to be put in operation in mining basin Kolubara soon

The Assistant to the Director of Mining Basin (RB) Kolubara, Dobrivoje Stefanović, said on Friday (September 18, 2009) that over 90% of the project for introduction of new 77m EUR worth of DCD system (dredge-conveyor-dispenser) at strip mine Tamnava-Zapadno Polje had been completed.

Stefanović said for Kolubara's website that "assembling of dredges is running late, but the activities are intensified, and 80 people are now engaged in that project".

He said that contractors - "Krup" and "Kolubara Metal" - had confirmed that transportation of dredges from the assembly site to strip mine Tamnava-Zapadno Polje, where the conveyor system with complete equipment had already been installed, would start on October 16th.

Stefanović added that, due to the crediting terms of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the credit line of German development bank KFW, which had provided the funds for that project, it was important that the job be finished by the end of year 2009.

Realization of the loan for procurement of equipment for strip mine Tamnava-Zapadno Polje followed the study that had been designed by European Agency for Reconstruction (EAR) and the Faculty of Mining and Geology in Belgrade for the Electric Power Company of Serbia (EPS).
