Italian investors interested in investments in waste processing industry in Serbia

The Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning in the Government of Republic of Serbia, Oliver Dulić, said yesterday (September 17, 2009) in Milan that Italian investors had expressed great interest in investments in waste processing industry in Serbia.

Dulić, who is currently staying in Milan, spoke yesterday to the President of the Government of Milan, Manfredi Palmeri, and the representatives of the region of Lombardia about extension of commenced cooperation in field of environment protection and new investments of Italian companies in field of waste management and recycling.


He told Beta agency that he had presented Serbia's environmental policy and the need for improvement of the 30-year-old waste management system to the Italian side.

According to his words, investments in the waste recycling industry in Serbia will resolve many environmental problems and create new jobs.

During his stay in Milan, the Minister paid a visit to the public utility company for waste processing and estimated that it was one of the most modern factories of the kind in Europe.
