The list of biggest buyers of real estate in Montenegro – Russians and Turks, followed by Serbs

During the last year, foreigners bought properties worth EUR 182.6 million in Montenegro, according to official CBCG data. Traditionally, the biggest buyers were the Russians, but Turkish citizens are coming close, having traded real estate in the amount of EUR 25.1 million.

Companies and individuals from the Russian Federation purchased real estate in the amount of EUR 38.9 million in 2018. Right behind them are Turks, who invested EUR 25.1 million in the purchase of real estate, which is close to four times more than in 2017, when they traded for EUR 6.8 million.

Several real estate dealers told the Analitika portal that Turks are the most interested in Kotor, Budva and, increasingly, Podgorica.

Immediately behind Turkish citizens are Serbs, who traded real estate for EUR 14.5 million last year. Among the major buyers of real estate in Montenegro are the Swiss who traded for 13.2 million euros, Americans with 10 million euros and Germans with 9.3 million euros.

Real estate sales in Montenegro worth millions of euros were realized by Austrians and Swedes, each with EUR 6.3 million worth of purchased real estate, the British with EUR 5.9 million and UAE citizens who traded EUR 5.6 million worth of real estate.

A little more than EUR 5 million was set aside by Slovenians for real estate trade in Montenegro.
