New gas-powered buses are too expensive for City Transportation Company Novi Sad - tenders for purchase of vehicles and introduction of electronic payment canceled

The Administrative Board of City Transportation Company (GSP) Novi Sad has canceled the tenders for purchase of equipment for electronic payment system and 10 gas-powered buses, with the explanation that the candidates "have not submitted appropriate documentation or their offers are much too high".

The company would not announce tenders if the money for that was not set aside in the city budget, but the people from the City Hall specified that, in case the offers are more expensive than planned, the companies must cover the difference from their own funds.

This information has also been confirmed by Mayor Igor Pavličić.

- The budget functions in such way that neither GSP nor any other city company can announce tender if the necessary funds are not provided. Therefore, it is impossible that a company announces a tender without having the funds because it is a felony. Lack of money can not be the reason for cancellation of a tender, while the offers that are more expensive than planned can - Pavličić pointed out.
