The Minister of Infrastructure of Serbia, Milutin Mrkonjić, said yesterday (September 14, 2009) that the commission had been formed for realization of the programme for reconstruction of Belgrade's bridge "Gazela".
He said to the press that the commission included three representatives of the Ministry of Infrastructure, two representatives of City of Belgrade, and two representatives of public company "Putevi Srbije".
- Serious work on "Gazela" starts tomorrow, and it should be finished in 22 months - Mrkonjić pointed out, but he did not specify the type of work.
According to his words, reconstruction will commence as soon as international creditors approve the programme for relocation of Roma people who currently live underneath "Gazela".
According to some earlier announcements of Minister Mrkonjić, the value of the project has grown due to postponement of works and, according to the data provided by subcontractor "Mostogradnja", it now amounts to 5.4 billion RSD.
The contractor for the works on "Gazela" is "Strabag", and they should be financed by European Investment Bank (33m EUR), European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (loan of 25m EUR), City of Belgrade, public company "Putevi Srbije" and European Agency for Reconstruction.
