German company WTE interested in projects for construction of drinking water production and water supply units in Vojvodina

The President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina, Bojan Pajtić, has talked with the Management of German company WTE (Water-Technology-Energy) about possibilities of planning and building units for production of drinking water and water supply.

According to the announcement of the Provincial Secretariat for Information, the two sides also talked about the offer of the German company in the projects for wastewater disposal, waste management, and the use of heating and electric energy that is obtained from the waste destruction process.

The representative of WTE for Serbia and Montenegro, Milovan Pavlović, expressed readiness of the company to finance realization of the projects in Vojvodina under very favorable terms, with the possibility of use of non-refundable grants from European funds.

- Basic principles of business in company WTE, which is a part of Austrian EVN Group, are security and reliability in supply of energy, responsible use of natural resources, and creation of modern and environment-compatible infrastructure - said Pavlović.

According to the announcement, Pajtić pointed out that Vojvodina was interested in every type of cooperation in the projects that ensure higher quality of life of citizens of Vojvodina and healthy environment.

- Our waters needs new type of treatment. We have potentials for construction of small and mid-sized hydroelectric power plants. Vojvodina, especially Banat, has problems with supply of drinking water, and that is why we are very interested in cooperation and partnership in resolving these problems - said Pajtić.
