South Korea to invest USD 1 million in Serbian movie Trials of Chul

South Korea will invest USD 1 million in the Serbian movie Trials of Chul, said the director of the movie, Danilo Beckovic. The protagonists are a football player and a secret agent from North Korea, who arrive to Serbia, Beckovic said on TV Prva.

The story is inspired by actual events and takes place in Serbia. Two famous South Korean actors will star in the movie, Beckovic said.

Trials of Chul is a movie about the young North Korean football player Chul and his secret service companion, who end up in a Serbian football club.

Intended as a tense, but entertaining and dynamic movie, Trials of Chul will combine several genres, black comedy, sports drama and action thriller, showing in an interesting way how an ambitious sportsman coming from a conservative environment sees Belgrade and its trials.

One of the world's most successful production companies, Lewis Pictures, has recognized the value of this project and will invest USD 1 million in this project.

Lewis Pictures is the most prestigious and innovative production company in South Korea. Together with Warner Bros and Brad Pitt's production company, they produced successful movies for Netflix, which were screened at the most prestigious world festivals, such as those in Cannes and San Sebastian.

Trials of Chul will be available in English, Serbian and Korean.
