"Petrohemija" starts production on September 17th - state provided about 1 billion RSD

- Pančevo-based chemical factory "Petrohemija" will restart production on Thursday, September 17th, after three-month break - the Ministry of Economy of Serbia announced.

According to the announcement, the state has provided the loan of about 1 billion RSD to help "Petrohemija", 760m RSD of which will be spent on commencement of production and social programme for 540 workers.

"Petrohemija" discontinued production at the end of June because the debt of about 220m EUR prevented the company from procuring raw gasoline, which represents the basic raw material for production in that chemical factory.

The Ministry of Economy said that the problem of debts of "Petrohemija" had been resolved, and that the delivery of raw gasoline had been arranged with "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" and "Lukoil".

The problems of surplus manpower and high salaries in "Petrohemija" have also been resolved, and the workers will get severance pays of 300 EUR per year of work.

Production in "Petrohemija" will be started in the presence of the Minister of Economy and Regional Development of Serbia, Mlađan Dinkić, and the Director General of "Petroleum Industry of Serbia", Kiril Kravčenko.
