Indications of recovery of Serbian economy - production and export growth is expected

Based on the results of the poll on business climate performed by Republic Statistics Institute in July, the companies in Serbia expect further drop in employment rate in the following period, as well as growth of production and export activities, accompanied with the improvement of liquidity.

The appraisal of the business situation in July was still pessimistic - 41% of companies were of the opinion that their current situation was bad, and only 1% estimated the situation as good. However, 15% of total number of polled enterprises think that their operations will be even worse in the following six months.

The current list of orders is estimated as insufficient, with the minimum growth registered against the previous month, while the trend of export orders is negative. According to the announcement, only 11% of the polled entrepreneurs said that they had no significant business problems. The business climate indicator in July was the same as in June, and only the food industry was marked as positive.
