"Housing in Vienna – Innovative. Social. Ecological" is the name of the exhibition of photographs that will be opened tonight (September 9th, 2009) in the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade. The exhibition, which will last until the end of September, is a result of the good cooperation between Vienna and Belgrade in field of social, non-profitable residential development. The organizer of the manifestation, the City Planning Institute of Belgrade, has finished the Study on social residence in Republic of Serbia. It is currently working on the Study on non-profitable residence in Belgrade, and the experiences of Austrian capital city are of great significance for elaboration of that study.

The exhibition will offer an insight into realized public-subsidized residential development projects and their fitting into current city development projects in Vienna.

The exhibition is accompanied by workshop "Social and Modern - Residential Development in Vienna", which will be held on September 10th in hotel "Palace". On that occasion, the delegation of the city of Vienna will present the models of subsidized residential development in Vienna in the period between 1990's and today, as well as architectural, social and environmental aspects of such development.

The workshop will also deal with the models of private/public partnership, which have given excellent results in field of subsidized residential development in the countries in transition and the developed countries of Europe.

- The representatives of the vocation, city administration, and developers from this field of civil engineering, will have the opportunity to meet their colleagues and discuss various models and aspects of non-profitable residence whose promotion in Serbia is in progress - it is stated in the organizer's announcement.

The exhibition will be opened by Michael Ludwig, the Deputy Mayor of Vienna. It should be pointed out that the exhibition drew exceptional attention of the public at last year's biennial in Venice.

The exhibition will be open until September 30th.
