Celebration of 170th anniversary of Beočin's cement factory "Lafarge"

"Lafarge", the Beočin cement factory, will celebrate the 170th anniversary of its existence and successful operations tomorrow (September 10th, 2009).
The jubilee will be celebrated at the reception party on the factory grounds in Beočin, with the programme and tour of the factory for employees, representatives of local community, citizens of Beočin and media, respectable business partners, as well as for high representatives of the Government.
Numerous guests from the country and abroad will be addressed by the Vice President of Lagarge Group, Guillaume Roux, as well as by Costin Borc, the Director General of the factory, and Bojan Pajtić, the President of the Executive Council of Vojvodina.
The cement factory in Beočin is the oldest cement factory in the Balkans. It was founded in 1839, and tens of millions of tons of cement produced in the factory have be built in numerous recognizable facilities in our country and all around the world.
New chapter in the history of the factory was started in 2002 when it was taken over by "Lafarge Group" - the global manufacturer of building materials with factories in 79 countries and 84,000 employees.
