POWERCHINA to build Obrenovac-New Belgrade heating pipeline – Agreement annex signed with Chinese company

One of the largest infrastructural projects in the City of Belgrade – the construction of the Obrenovac-New Belgrade heating pipeline, is in the preparatory phase of realization, and an annex to the agreement on the construction of this heating pipeline has been signed with the contractor, the Power Construction Corporation of China (POWERCHINA), whereby the possibilities were created for the negotiations about the credit for the financing of the project to begin, said Mayor of Belgrade Zoran Radojicic.

The annex to the agreement was signed today at the Old Palace by Radojicic, the acting director of the PE Beogradske Elektrane, Rade Basta, and the official representative of POWERCHINA for Serbia, Yang Bo, Beoinfo reports.

Radojicic said that the project was going ahead as planned and that the process of land expropriation was in progress.

– The necessary conditions for the works to begin are being created. With the realization of this project, that is, taking energy from Obrenovac, the City of Belgrade will secure a stable and environmentally-friendly supply, which is very important – Radojicic pointed out.

Let us remind that, in May 2019, the Government of Serbia formed the Task Force for the realization of the project “Construction of the Belgrade Subway”, whose task it is to prepare acceptable technical, commercial and financial solutions for the realization of this project together with POWERCHINA.
