The inhabitants of village of Milutinovac in municipality of Kladovo are going to resolve the problem of a dump alongside the Kladovo-Negotin main road by means of public works.
This unorganized city scrapyard is polluting nearby rivers for years, while uncontrolled burning of trash creates a smoke screen that affects traffic safety on the busy road. All problems will be resolved with the construction of a sanitary dump for solid waste in the place called Jakomir, 5.5 km away from Kladovo, in the direction of Zaječar. This space is being organized within the scope of the first phase of construction of the sanitary dump, the project for which was elaborated by Belgrade-based Institute "Kirilo Savić".
According to the information provided by "Danas", new scrapyard will be 200 meters long, 50 meters wide, and about 10 meters deep. So far, the access road has been built, and the authorized people intend to have a fence built around the dump. Total of 400,000 RSD has been set aside from the municipal budget for earth works, which will be carried out by the workers engaged in public works who will be using the machines of public company "Komunalac". The building for waste recycling and other accompanying facilities will, most probably, be built within the future sanitary dump in 2010.
