Agrobanka's seven-month profit exceeded 1 billion RSD

- The profit of Belgrade-based Agrobanka in the period January-July 2009 amounted to 1.28 billion RSD (about 11m EUR), which is at the same level as the profit in the first seven months of year 2008 - Agrobanka announced today (September 3rd, 2009).

A member of the Executive Board of Agrobanka, Branislav Pešić, said at the press conference that good business results had been achieved in spite of the economic and financial crisis.

Pešić said that the bank had approved total of 31 billion RSD worth of loans to the economy sector and citizens, 6 billion RSD more than at the end of 2008.

As he pointed out, about 40% of Agrobanka's loans were granted to agricultural and processing industry.

Pešić also said that the balance assets of Agrobanka exceeded 50 billion RSD, which was more than planned for the whole year 2009.

According to Pešić, saving deposits in Agrobanka have been increased by about 65m EUR since the beginning of the year, 20m EUR of which were collected in August, so that total savings reached the amount of 210m EUR.

According to the data provided by the Central Securities Registry, the largest stockholder of Agrobanka is the state of Serbia, which owns 20% of stock capital, while the remaining stocholders have less than 8% of stocks each.

The price of stocks of Agrobanka on the Belgrade Stock Exchange amounted to 8,848 RSD on September 2nd, while the highest price in the last three months - 9,639 RSD - was reached on August 27th. The value of market capitalization of Agrobanka is 6.4 billion RSD.
