Board members of Town Hall of Smederevo decided to rent land - construction of refinery still under question

The Board members of the Town Hall of Smederevo decided yesterday (September 2nd, 2009) to offer building land in the industrial zone of that city for rent.

After 10.5 hours of discussion in local parliament, 35 members of the Board voted for rental of that land, 12 were against, while 8 members abstained from voting.

It was emphasized on several occasions during the meeting that the decision about rental of land did not mean that the Board gave consent for construction of refinery.
