- The Government of Republic of Srpska has made the decision about allotment of concession for construction of hydroelectric power plant "Ulog" on the Neretva river to Belgrade-based company EFT - people from that company announced today (September 1st, 2009). The value of the power plant is 100m EUR.

In combination with steam power plant "Stanari", hydroelectric power plant "Ulog" will ensure greater flexibility in production of electric energy for EFT, and trial work is expected to start in 2013.

As it is specified, hydroelectric power plant "Ulog" will be conceived as a classical derivation unit, and it will comprise two generators with installed power of 35 MW, which will be producing 76 GWh of electric energy per year.

Realization of the first phase of the project will start immediately, and this phase anticipates, among the rest, elaboration of detailed feasibility study, supplemental geological projects, design of regulation plan, and tender for procurement of necessary equipment. The same as in the case of steam power plant "Stanari", the whole project will be implemented in accordance with EU's environment protection directives, and that phase of the project will be finished in one year.

The project anticipates construction of junction and 110 kV long-distance power line from hydroelectric power plant "Ulog" to substation Kalinovik.

Company EFT has, so far, built Fatničko Polje - Bileća tunnel, that is, it has developed coal mine "Stanari", in the vicinity of which it builds the namesake steam power plant with the capacity of 420 MW. Total value of that investment exceeds 650m EUR.

EFT operates in 18 countries of central and southeast Europe, and it runs all the activities from its office in Belgrade. EFT registered incomes of 975m EUR in 2008.
