At the beginning of 2005, Meat Industry PIK Kikinda stopped production, because the delivery of gas to it was stopped due to unpaid bills. The debts exceed amount of 240 million CSD. It is expected that the electricity is also going to be cut very soon.
In the 80’s of the last century, canned hams from this combine used to reach EU and USA and the daily capacity of slaughterhouse was 1,000 pigs and 120 calves.
Besides 2 unsuccessful tenders, they had 2 unsuccessful auctions. Recently, potential buyer from Spain gave up privatization. Visit of the partner from Netherlands who showed interest in procurement of the Combine is expected soon.
