Trial series of gas-powered "punto" in September

- Preparations for production of gas-powered "fiat punto", which is expected to commence in September, have already started in the automobile factory in Kragujevac - said Zoran Bogdanović, the CEO of factory "Zastava auto".

- Works on organization of the space have been finished, and we are now in the phase when new equipment for production of vehicles powered by liquefied and petroleum gas is being installed - Bogdanović told Beta agency.

He specified that the production of trial series of gas-powered "punto" vehicles would commence in September.

New equipment for production of gas-powered vehicles is being installed in units "Montaža" and "Karoserija".

According to the words of the authorized people, assembling of "punto" vehicles in Kragujevac-based automobile factory has been resumed after the collective annual vacation as planned, and everything is ready for monthly production of 2,200 vehicles starting September.

Regular overhaul of machines and equipment in "Karoserija", "Lakirnica" and "Montaža" was finished during the two-week collective vacation in August.

For the first time after 15 years, "Površinska zaštita" has been generally overhauled.

Reconstruction of the heating installations is underway, which means that, after several decades, the employees will no longer work in cold production halls during winter.

Total of 7,145 automobiles were produced since the beginning of production of "punto" in Kragujevac, in March 2009, until the beginning of August.

Assembling of "punto" vehicles with diesel engine of 1,300 cubic centimeters commenced in the factory units in Kragujevac in July, and there are, currently, two available versions of that automobile: "emotion" and "dynamic".
