The following Wednesday expires the deadline to the buyer of the majority capital of "Ikarbus" to pay all arrears to workers. If he does not do so, we will terminate the purchase agreement with the Russian partner "Avtodetal service" on Thursday - said for “Novosti" Vladislav Cvetkovic, the director of the Privatization Agency.
The Russian partner is currently not showing up, so it is almost certain that "Avtodetal service” is no longer interested in “Ikarbus”.
- In situations where there are problems in achieving the agreed obligations to the company and workers, and we announce that we will terminate the contract, the new owners of companies usually respond and try to, pressed by the deadlines, subsequently regulate their obligations. With “Avtodetal service” we didn’t manage to get in touch in order to agree about anything, so we assume that next week we will be forced to terminate the purchase agreement - explains the director of the Privatization Agency.
However, because of unfulfilled obligations to workers, employees in this company are on strike for almost two months. According to the Union of the factory, the Russian owner is owing to the workers seven wages.
Workers claim that the Russians, who bought "Ikarbus" one year ago, do not respect the provisions of the collective agreement and plus they have not concluded any new job.
On June,10TH of this year, Privatization Agency made a decision according to which “Ikarbus” buyer is left a period of 60 days to submit evidence that the payment of wages is made in accordance with the law. Deadline for action by this decision expired on 17 August, when representatives of the Sector for control of the Privatization Agency started an investigation of the company. After that, it was concluded that the Russian partner would be left a period of one more week to submit all evidence about fulfillment of obligations, which expires next Wednesday.
