World Bank forgave Serbia Kosovo's debt of 550 millions USD

Minister of economy, Mladjan Dinkic, announced yesterday (August, 26th, 2009) that the World Bank forgave Serbia a 550 millions dollars dept of Kosovo.

- Annulment of Kosovo debt doesn’t change anything regarding Kosovo’s independence, because membership in the World Bank is not the same as the membership in UN. On one side, there’s a question of state’s sovereignty and on the other is the matter of fiscal politics, states Dinkic on B92 television.

He also said that the money Serbia would get in the name of Kosovo’s debt would be used for support to the Kosovo Serbs.
