Rtanj to get gondola, luxurious hotel Ramonda to open as well – Numerous investments reviving tourism of eastern Serbia

The luxurious 4-star hotel Ramonda will open on the Rtanj mountain on July 1. Around EUR 9 million was invested in its construction. The investor in the construction of the hotel on Rtanj is Jadranka Stepanovic, and the Tourism Organization of Boljevac expects the opening of the hotel to contribute to the strengthening of tourism in the entire eastern Serbia.

– Hotel Ramonda has 21 accommodation units and can take in up to 90 guests, while the number of employees is 70 to 100. The hotel also features a spa center equipped with outdoor and indoor pools, a sauna, a steam bath and a hydromassage facility, and an attractive massage program is available as well. Right next the hotel is a mountain trek, as well as a shrine – Aleksandra Blagojevic, the director of the Tourism Organization of Boljevac, says for eKapija.

The hotel, whose construction from ground up took around two and a half years, also features a large restaurant with a balcony, offering gastronomic specialties prepared from fresh local ingredients.

In this ecologically and energy efficient hotel, the water in the outdoor pool is not filtered with the use of chemical products. Instead, the water flows into the pool from a special pool where plants are used to clean the water. This is a unique example in Serbia and a whole new ecological way of water filtering.

In order to revive the tourism in this beautiful region, which includes the mystic mountain of Rtanj, the infrastructure needs to be developed, especially roads, and the next project is therefore to adapt the road from the center of the Rtanj settlement to the hotel itself. The Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications of Serbia has set aside RSD 9 million for this investment.

However, investments in tourism in eastern Serbia will not end there. As the Tourism Organization of Boljevac announces, the construction of a panoramic gondola system is also planned. The route will stretch between the foot of the mountain, that is, the Rtanj settlement, and the mountain peak.

– The gondola project is already completed, but Rtanj has been put under state protection in the meantime and we are now waiting for a decision to be made, as the project will need to change in line with the new conditions, and we expect the works to start by the end of 2020. This will be a joint project of the municipality of Boljevac, Jadranka Stepanovic and the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications, we expect – Aleksandra Blagojevic says.

With its natural materials, stone and wood, and its environment-friendly features, Hotel Ramonda is in full harmony with the nature. The hotel also features large glass surfaces.
