Volksbank profit for the first six months of 2009 - 5 mil EUR

Volksbank Serbia announced today (August, 24th, 2009) that in the first half of 2009 the bank made had made a profit of 5 mil EUR, which is for 9% higher than in the same period of the last year.

As it stands in the announcement, Volksbank has increased the overall amount of approved credits for 20% during the first six months of this year, which is 405 millions EUR.

From this amount, 145 mil EUR was approved in the business sector, and 260 mil EUR was loaned to the citizens.

Active balance of the bank, which is actually entire amount of bank's funds, including credits, deposits, interest rates' profit, papers of value, paid dues and bank's participation in the capital of other companies, has been increased to 670 mil EUR.

President of Executive Board of Volksbank, Axel Hummel, stated that good business results of the bank in the first six months of 2009 directly influenced increase of placement, thanks to domestic currency credits with fix interest rate.
