Tender for the bypass around Dimitrovgrad has been published

“Corridor 10” company has published today (August, 20th, 2009) tender for construction of a bypass around Dimitrovgrad and a highway from the bypass to the Bulgarian border on Pan European “Corridor 10”.
As it stands in the announcement, published in “Politika”, the construction will be financed partially from the credit of 275,2 millions eur (388 millions USD) which was approved by the World bank in July, for construction of “Corridor 10”. The plan is to build a bypass and a part of the highway from Dimitrovgrad to Bulgarian border, a total of 8,67 km, including seven bridges and two tunnels.
The construction is divided in three parts, and contractors can apply for one or several stages.
The first part is going to be construction of the bypass around Dimirovgrad and a full profile of the highway from the border crossing, including the loop, in two years time. Total length of this section is 5,8 km.
The second part of the project is construction of seven bridges on the bypass, from 20 – 500 meters of length, also in two years time.
The third part of the project will be construction of 1,7 km long tunnel, in 3 yars time.
Deadline for submission of offers is October, 22nd, and the condition is that the bidder should buy off tender documentation for 28.000 RD, which is 300 EUR. Acocrding to some earlier statements from “Corridor 10” company, construction of the bypass and the highway should be started in November.
The bypass is on the highway Nis – Dimitrovgrad. European Bank for Relief and Development (EBRD), approved to Serbia a credit of 150 millions EUR for construction of that highway, and another 300 millions EUR is expected from the European Investments Bank.
