Mrkonjic unsatisfied with works on construction site for the northern line of “Corridor 10”

Ministers Milutin Mrkonjic and Verica Kalanovic warned the contractors of the northern line of “Corridor 10” that all delays in the works would not be tolerated and that everything had to be developed according agreed dynamics. Road constructors haven’t done about 35% of the planned work for the first 100 days since the construction’s opening.

- Weather conditions can not be excuse for the delay, said Mr. Mrkonjic on his visit to the site.

- Constructors used to work on 50 degrees above and below the zero. We are giving you a chance to make up the lost time until September, 1st.

Both General Managers of PZP “Belgrade” and “Putevi” Uzice promised to the Ministers that these two sections of Novi Sad – Horgos highway, of 10 km each, would be finished before the deadline, which is already in the beginning of November.

- The state fulfills its obligations and the money is provided, said Minister Kalanovic.

-The contractors also have to respect their obligations. In the future, we are going to visit construction sites more often, in order to control the spending of tax payers’ money. These sections are not just a regular project, but they are a pass for more serious work. We have plans worth 200 million EUR for the next few months. Prequalification work is already being undertaken for the section from Levosoje to Neradovac on the Southern part of “Corridor 10”.

Nenad Ivanisevic, member of the Management Board of “Corridor 10” company, stated that asphalting of the sections on the northern lie would be started in a few weeks. He also pointed out that the World Bank gave approval for beginning of tender procedure for the bypass around Dimitrovgrad. The tender is published, and all interested companies can deliver their offers by October, 22nd.

General Manager of Putevi “Uzice” company, Milan Bojovic, stated that the work dynamic was slowed down for 10 days because of the heavy rains at the end of June and at the beginning of July.
