Tendering for final phase of reconstruction of Kalenic green market soon – New look in 2020

The Kalenic green market will be reconstructed by April 2020, and the final design for the final phase of the reconstruction should be adopted in the upcoming days, says Marko Stojcic, the Head Urban Planner of Belgrade.

Although it was previously announced that the third and the fourth phases would be completed by the end of 2018, according to the current estimates, the works should start in 2019, and the green market should finally get a new look in 2020.

– A preliminary design has been prepared, but since there have been complaints, we are waiting for a final design. The stall area is to be reconstructed, and when the final design is adopted, we will open a tender – Stojcic told Novosti.

As announced earlier, the final phase entails the reconstruction of the green market area and the construction of an underground garage. However, due to technical difficulties, Stojcic explains, the garage will not be built in the location where it was originally intended, and will be moved instead.

This phase will entail the works on the development of the dairy shop and the area between the two gates.

Let us remind that Deputy Mayor of Belgrade Goran Vesic recently announced the opening of the reconstructed Palilula green market in September 2019 and the reconstruction of Senjak and Skadarlija green markets.
