Economy experts from UniCredit Bank announce the fall of Gross Domestic Product in Serbia (GDP) of 4,8%

In 2009 Serbia will makr the fall of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 4,8%, as it has been estimated by the analysis experts of Italian Banking Group, UniCredit.
According to the study of the influence of world economic crisis on the commerce and banking sector in the Central and Eastern Europe, in 2010, Serbia can expect slower fall of GDP of 0,7%, while 2011 should bring an increase of 1,3%.
Economy experts of UniCredit Bank, which is active in Serbia, have estimated that there are positive signals which give some hope for the recovery of the world commerce, which would also push recovery in the Middle and Eastern Europe. After significant slow down of economic activities in 2009, with GDP fall of 5,5% in the Central and Eastern Europe, it can be expected GDP’s growth of 1,1% in the region during 2010.
“This is a positive signal, but still this growth is far beyond the region’s potential”, UniCredit Bank’s analysis experts have stated, adding that they expect significantly various results of the commerce in particular countries from the region.
According their expectations, Polland is one among 17 countries of Central and Eastern Europe which will have GDP growth in this year, on the level of 1,4%, and the largest fall, between 12,5% and 15% will mark Baltic region countries and Ukraine.
UniCredit Bank economy experts estimated that in 2011 all countries in Central and Eastern Europe would mark growth, along with region’s GDP growth of 3,5%.
