IT company "Microsoft" registered 44m USD worth of sales in Serbia in business year 2009 - said Vladan Živanović, the Director of "Microsoft" office in Serbia.
He told Beta agency that it was expected that the incomes of "Microsoft" in Serbia stagnated in the current business year, which would end in July 2010, because the market fall would be resumed within the next few months, and mild growth can be expected in the next calendar year.
- We had excellent results in the second half of the last year. The first economic problems and elements of the crisis appeared in IT market in December 2008 - said Živanović and added that that was the reason why the stagnation was expected.
According to his words, the growth of sales of "Microsoft" in Serbia amounted to 30-50% on annual basis over the last few years.
Živanović said that the office of "Microsoft" in Serbia cut the number of employees in 2009, just like all other branch offices of "Microsoft" throughout the world. Total number of people who will be laid off is about 5,000.
