"Petroleum Industry of Serbia" registered 3.8 billion RSD worth of profit in second quarter of year 2009

- "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" (NIS) achieved 3.8 billion RSD worth of profit in the second quarter of year 2009 - said Kiril Kravčenko, the Director General of that company .
He said to the press in Belgrade that NIS had registered total losses of 7.2 billion RSD in the first half of year 2009 because it had ended the first quarter of the year with 11 billion RSD worth of losses.
Kravčenko said that NIS had cut its claims by 7 billion RSD, so that its debtors owed total of 27 billion RSD at the moment, while NIS' total debts to the banks amounted to about 800m EUR.
Russian "Gazpromneft" took over "Petroleum Industry of Serbia" in February 2009 after it paid 400m EUR for 51% of stocks of that company.
